A delectable and protein-rich breakfast or brunch option featuring a toasted bagel, smoked salmon, and a perfectly poached egg. This Bagel with Salmon and Poached Egg is a luxurious and satisfying way to start your day.

Makes 1 Serving

Ingredients

  • 1 bagel
  • 2 slices of smoked salmon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Cream cheese (for spreading)
  • 1 Lettuce leaf
  • Fresh dill, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Fill a saucepan with water and add the white vinegar. Bring the water to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Crack the egg into a small bowl. Create a gentle whirlpool in the simmering water by stirring it with a spoon.
  3. Slide the egg into the whirlpool in the water. Poach it for 3 minutes until the white is set, and the yolk remains runny.
  4. Meanwhile, slice the bagel in half and toast it.
  5. Spread cream cheese on one or both halves.
  6. Lay the smoked salmon slices on the bagel halves.
  7. Remove the poached egg using a slotted spoon to discard excess water .
  8. Place the poached egg on top of the smoked salmon.
  9. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Enjoy !
